Saudi Arabia Launches “Skills Accelerator” to Advance Saudisation in the Health Sector
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD), in partnership with the Ministry of Health, has signed a new memorandum of understanding to activate the “Skills Accelerator” initiative — a strategic national program designed to upskill Saudi talent and align workforce capabilities with the future demands of the Kingdom’s healthcare sector.
Key Goals and Focus
- Bridging the skills gap: The program focuses on enhancing productivity and aligning medical training with real labor market needs.
- Building professional standards: It establishes a unified framework for skill development, career progression, and sector intelligence to anticipate future workforce requirements.
- Empowering national talent: More than 322,000 Saudi professionals are expected to benefit from the Accelerator under the broader National Skills Campaign.
Cross-Sector Collaboration
The initiative brings together sector employers, ministries, universities, and training institutions to create a comprehensive Sector Skills Framework for healthcare.
It also integrates with the National Skills Platform and other national initiatives — including the Waad Training Campaign — that have already delivered thousands of training opportunities and boosted women’s participation in the workforce.
